A Clareman has been nominated for a spot on the Opel GPA Hurling Team of the Year.
Clonlara’s Darach Honan is one of three men vying for the number 13 shirt and is the only Banner player to be recognised on this occasion.

He has accepted that he will find it tough to pick up the award however, with Offaly’s Shane Dooley and Eoin Kelly of Tipperary also up for the award.
There was also some disappointment for the Clonlara man today – he has missed out on the accolade of U-21 hurler of the year, an award which has been won by Tipperary’s Seamus Hennessy.
