Clare hurling boss Brian Lohan admits their failure to convert scoring chances at key moments was a telling factor in their Munster final loss.
Limerick collected their fifth consecutive title with a 1-23 to 1-22 win over the Banner at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Having led at half by 1-11 to 0-11, Clare were outscored by 1-8 to 0-3 in the third quarter of the contest, with 12 wides for Lohan’s side over the course of the game.
He feels they paid the price for that wastefulness
Meanwhile a former team-mate of Brian Lohan says the Banner were robbed of chance to bring the game to extra-time in the dying moments.
Fouls on both Tony Kelly and Adam Hogan were not picked up on by referee Liam Gordon, with the final whistle sounding just after Hogan was challenged above the shoulders while in possession.
Two time All Ireland winner Jamesie O’Connor says the official got that big call wrong.
