Miltown and Newmarket served up a thriller last evening in Kilmihil in a postponed Round 1 Senior B Ladies Football championship tie. It was in fact the last game in the group stages and ended in a draw, Miltown 4-8 Newmarket 3-11.
Miltown now finish top of the group and in addition to qualifying for the Senior B final (against Newmarket) they will also play Liscannor in a play off for the fourth semi final spot of the main Senior Championship next weekend.
Shannon Gaels recorded a 3-10 to 0-4 win over Clooney Quin in Round 1 of the Intermediate championship at Ballyea last evening while the Round 5 senior championship fixture between West Clare Gaels (the holders) and Kilmihil did not go ahead.
