The first county U21 hurling final of the year takes place tonight as Whitegate take on Meelick at 6-30 in Cusack park.
Meelick defeated pre tournament favourites Scariff-Ogonnelloe in the last round having also overcome Ballyea and St Senan’s Kilkee in their early rounds.
Manager Gerry Markham admits his side will be looking to players such as Oisin Hickey and Damien Maloney to lead the team:
Whitegate have played just one game coming into tonight’s final-overcoming Parteen in the semi final and despite that they are currently favourites to win tonight’s final.
The final is Whitegate’s first at u21 level since 2002 and manager Terence Fahy is hoping his side can use past experience against their rivals to good effect this evening.
