McIlroy Quits Honda Classic

World number one Rory McIlroy has withdrawn from the Honda Classic in Florida – claiming that pains in his wisdom tooth were effecting his concentration.

The defending champion was struggling badly during his second round at Palm Beach – dropping 7 shots during his opening eight holes – including a disastrous treble-bogey 7 on his 6th hole.

He abruptly walked off the course mid-way through his round – telling reporters that he was in a "bad place mentally” before getting into a waiting car.
