McGrath Speaks Of Paralympics Legacy

Clare’s Paralympic Swimmer believes the London Games have raised the profile of athletes with disabilities in Ireland and will encourage the public to appreciate their true potential. 

19 year old Jonathon McGrath from Killaloe has cerebral palsey but has always focused on his abilities and began competitive swimming just four years ago.

He narrowly missed out on a final place at the London Paralympics in the 400 metres freestye event but is now planning to compete in future cometitions including the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.

Jonathon told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that the London games were a huge success and will make a big difference.
