McDermott unveils Clare side for Cork Clash

The Clare team for Sunday’s Munster q-final with Cork has been named.

Gordan Kelly from St Josephs Miltown will once again Caption the side,from centre back,  as Clare take on the All -Ireland Champions.

The Visitors are looking to cause the biggest upset in the championship for a number of years by overcoming the reigning All Ireland and National league holders on their home patch

Clare manager Michael Mc McDermott is hoping his side on Sunday can repeat a famous Clare win from 14 years ago:

And the team in full is

At fullback line are Meelick’s Kevin Hartnett , Barry Duggan of Cratloe and Ennistymon’s Laurence Healy – ahead of Joe Hayes of Lissycasey in goal.

Captain Gorden Kelly is named at centre back, alongside John Hayes of Kilrush Shamrocks and Kilmurray Ibrickane’s Martin McMahon at half back.

Niall Browne of Two Mile house Kildare and Garry Brennan of Clondegad are at Midfield.

Doonbeg’s David Tubridy is on the half forward line  along with Graham Kelly of Saint Joseph’s Miltown and Cathal O Connor of Coolmeen, while Cooraclare’s Rory Donnelly starts at full forward alongside Darren O’Neill of Eire Og and Liscannor’s Alan Clohessey.

Cork begin their campaign aiming to wrest back the provincial crown from Kerry having lost out to the Kingdom in last year’s Munster semi final.
