Goals from Donnacha O’Connor and Paul Kerrigan helped the Rebels into a two-point lead at half-time, despite Kevin McLaughlin’s goal for Mayo.

But Cork could only muster one point in the second-half and also finished the game with just 14 men after John Miskella was sent-off for an off-the-ball incident.

Mayo will now face Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-finals after the Kingdom cruised to a 1-20 to 0-10 win over Limerick in the opening game of the afternoon at Croke Park.

In a one-sided contest, Kerry never looked in danger of losing.

The highlight from Jack O’Connor’s men was a brilliant back-heel effort from Darran O’Sullivan for the only goal of the game.
