Manchester United 5 points clear at top of Premier League

 

After last night’s Premier League action, Manchester United remain 5 points clear at the top.

They also remain unbeaten for a club record 29 games, after they defeated Aston Villa 3-1 at Old Trafford, thanks mostly to Wayne Rooney.

The striker scored twice and set up Nemanja Vidic for the third after Darren Bent had netted for Villa.

Arsenal maintained the pressure on United by coming from a goal down to beat Everton 2-1.

Louis Saha put Everton ahead from what seemed to be an offside position, much to the frustration of the Arsenal team.

But Everton manager David Moyes said afterwards that Cesc Fabregas should have conducted himself better:

Elsewhere Chelsea also came from behind to beat Sunderland 4-2.

The score was 2-2 at half time

But John Terry and Nicolas Anelka sealed victory for the Premier League holders in the second half.

Elsewhere West Brom drew 2-2 at home to Wigan.
