John Connole, a Kinvara native who teaches at St. Flannan's College, will take charge of the West Clare outfit in 2015, after Dermot Coughlan stood aside due to work commitments.
Kilmurry Ibrickane chairman Michael Talty is hopeful that the club and players will give the new man their backing.
Meanwhile, there has also been a big appointment on the Clare hurling scene.
John O'Meara has been re-appointed as manager of Sixmilebridge.
The 2013 county champions failed to emerge from the group this year, after they were beaten by eventual finalists Crusheen and Cratloe.
