Man Utd start season with win

both Chelsea and Manchester United kicked off their Barclay’s Premier League campaigns today.

At the Britannia Stadium this afternoon – Chelsea were held to a scoreless draw at Stoke.

Meanwhile Manchester United left it late at the Hawthorns. Ashley Young’s shot was deflected into the West Brom goal by Steven Reid. Shane Long scored on his debut to cancel out Wayne Rooney’s 10th minute opener. It finished West Brom 2 – Manchester United 1

In the NPower Championship Blackpool beat Peterborough by two goals to one (2-1).  Cardiff ran out 3 -1 winners against Bristol City at the Cardiffi City Stadium.

There was one game in the SPL today, Kilmarnock emerged comfortable winners – beating Hibernian 4-1 at Rugby Park. The victory sees them move into fourth place in the table behind Rangers, Celtic and Motherwell.
