Man U suffer loss in Carling Cup Quarter Final

 
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has apologised to the fans for last nights Carling cup quarter final loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Darren Ambrose put the Championship side in front after 65 minutes with a stunning strike,  but United equalised just minutes latter when Macheda converted the penalty he was awarded after being brought down by Paddy Mc Carthy.

The game finished 1-all after 90 minutes but sub Glen Murray’s goal in the first half of extra time settled it,  Fergie says his side weren’t good enough.

Palace will meet Cardiff in the semi finals over two legs while Liverpool take on Manchester City in the other  semi, those games will be played in January.
