Clubs in Clare have voted to reduce the number of teams in the Clare Senior Football Championship from 16 to 12 in the 2018 season.
The move came following a recommendation by the Football Review Committee, with the Cooraclare club putting the motion forward to last nights County Convention.
It means that 5 teams will drop down in the 2018 championship, with the four sides who drop to the relegation series along with the loser of the Senior B Playoffs being relegated.
One of the Football Review Committee, Kilrush clubman Colm Browne, says it will mean that clubs will become more competitive at the right grade.
Last nights convention also saw the executive returned en masse, with Joe Cooney set for a second term as chairman.
