The Rebels have home advantage with both sides looking for their opening points in Division 1A.

Clare were narrowly beaten by Galway after an injury time point saw the tribemen secure a last-gasp victory while the Rebels failed to find form against Kilkenny.

Lyons says neither side can afford to lose.

Meanwhile,

Former All-Ireland winner with the Rebels Tomas Mulcahy says goals could play a crucial role in this weekends fixture

It was Joseph Cooneys goal 15 minutes from time which swung last Sundays game in Salthill back in Galway's favour, and Mulcahy says finding those green flags could be all important in Pairc Ui Rinn.

It's underway in Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday at 7pm, full live commentary here on Clare FM.

Elsewhere in hurling,

Limerick forward Niall Moran has announced his retirement.

According to the Limerick Leader the 31 year old informed Shannonsiders manager TJ Ryan of his decision this morning.

The Ahane forward started last Saturdays draw with Waterford but was substituted in the second half.
