Shane Long could be out of Ireland’s play-off with Estonia but his knee injury is not as bad as first feared.
The West Brom striker underwent a scan yesterday which revealed no knee ligament damage but did reveal a badly bruised right knee and a chipped knee bone that could keep him out of next months double header against the Baltic side.
The former Cork City and Reading forward picked up the damage when tackled by Alan Hutton of Aston Villa during Saturdays 2-1 win over.
