Davy Fitzgerald’s side will be fighting to remain in the top tier of hurling when they take on Cork in the league play off tomorrow at the Gaelic Grounds.

Clare goes into the game having recorded what is arguably their most impressive win of the league when they saw off the rebels at Paric Ui Rinn last month, however management have warned that victory could spur Cork on tomorrow.

But Brian Lohan says the venue plays in Clare’s favour and feels the side needs to pick up the pace in order to overcome Cork

There’s speculation that if Cork went down the structure of the league would be re looked at – however former Cork player Alan Browne believes that would be the wrong approach
