Clare boss Brian Lohan feels capturing the National Hurling League title is a reward for the effort his players have put in over the last few seasons.
Victory over Kilkenny saw Clare crowned league champions for just the fifth time in their history, and bridged a nine year gap to their last success in the competition.
Aidan McCarthy hit 2-10 of Clare’s 3-16 total with the Banner’s other goal coming from his Inagh-Kilnamona clubmate David Fitzgerald.
Lohan says getting over the line with silverware on offer was a real positive
Meanwhile one of Clare’s key men in defence says the win will keep the positive atmosphere in the camp going ahead of a crucial championship campaign.
The Banner’s next outing comes on April 21st when Limerick come to Cusack Park for the first game in the Munster round robin series, with Clare facing a trip to take on Cork a week later.
Cratloe’s Diarmuid Ryan says they will be in a confident mood heading into those games.
