Lohan Happy With Clare Spirit After 14 Men Overcome Laois

Clare’s senior hurling boss says he was happy with the spirit his side showed yesterday as they overcame Laois in the first round of the All Ireland qualifier series.

Brian Lohan’s men had to withstand a late surge, having spent the second half with 14 men following a David McInerney red card in the first half.

The Banner edged the game by a single point, and will now face one of Cork, All Ireland champions Tipperary or Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford next weekend.
