Fresh from bridging a thirty-seven year gap to be crowned Clare Junior A Football Champions, Liscannor attacked the challenge of Thurles Sarsfields with intent at Hennessy Park, Miltown Malbay.

In a tit for tat encounter, Liscannor got the better of their opponents in the early exchanges with a Brian Considine point and a brace of scores from Alan Clohessy sending the North Clare men into a 0-03 to 0-00 lead after seven minutes.

Thurles Sarsfields responded in kind, kicking the next three points to level matters on the scoreboard, however not to be discouraged by their opponents rapid resurgence, Gavin Duffy found the target before the break ensuring Eoin Curtin’s charges went into the restart with a 0-05 to 0-04 advantage.
