Everton manager Ronald Koeman has opened the door for Wayne Rooney to return to Goodison Park this summer.

The Manchester United captain was linked with a move to China this month but instead opted to stay at Old Trafford until the end of the campaign.

Rooney has been out of favour at United this season and Koeman said if he becomes available then they’d love to sign him.

Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh added that it would be remiss of the club not to be interested if Rooney was available.
