Group One was first to declare its final standings, with champions Eire Óg, Cusack Cup winners St Breckan’s and last years intermediate winners Corofin all qualifying for the quarter final draw.

It means that 2019 winners Miltown are now facing a scrap to save their senior status, after a late burst from St Breckan’s saw them come out on top of their final round tie.

Eire Óg had seven points to spare over Corofin in their showdown, but Townies boss Paul Madden feels they have plenty to work on ahead of the last eight

Group Two had a straightforward conclusion, with Cratloe overcoming Lissycasey following a dramatic finish to take top spot, with both teams already safely through to the last eight.

Lissycasey boss John Ryan feels working on being more clinical in front of goal will be his sides main focus in the coming weeks.

The other game in the group saw St Joseph’s Doora Barefield finish strongly to see off the challenge of Kilmihil, who are now facing a relegation battle, while the Parish take on Clondegad for the last available spot in the quarter-final draw.

The identity of St Joseph’s opponents in that playoff was in doubt right to the final whistles in Group Three, with late drama seeing Ennistymon hold on to overcome Doonbeg and clinch top spot in the group.

The game hinged on a late David Tubridy disallowed goal, and Magpies selector Kieran Mahony was not happy with the decision, which helped consign his side to the relegation battle.

There was late drama too in the other Group Three tie, as Cillian Brennan’s late goal threatened to turn the final standings, but Kilmurry Ibrickane held out for the two point win over Clondegad which sees them through in second spot

Meanwhile in the intermediate championship, Kildysart, Kilrush, Naomh Eoin, Cooraclare, Ennistymon, Wolfe Tones, O’Curry’s and Shannon Gaels make up the last eight standing.
