Clare SFC Group 1 Round Two: Kilmurry Ibrickane: 3-11 – Corofin: 0-07
Kilmurry Ibrickane have become the latest side to secure a place in the last eight of the Clare Senior Football Championship.
The Quilty outfit dominated throughout proceedings from the throw-in at Lissycasey with a Daniel Walsh goal on the stroke of half-time sealing a 1-08 to 0-03 advantage at the interval.
The second green flag came soon after the restart with a flowing team move involving Caolfhinn O’Dea, Daniel Walsh and Dermot Coughlan eventually falling to Josh Moloney who dispatched to the net with aplomb.
With just moments to go until the full time whistle, Daniel Walsh rattled the net once again to send the West Clare side into the quarter final on a full time score of 3-11 to 0-07.
The absence of county star Jamie Malone through injury served to significantly hamper Corofin’s challenge from the outset, however Gearóid Cahill, Gearóid Kelly, Cillian McGroary and Cillian O’Connor were best on the day.
Corofin will face St.Breckan’s in a North Clare derby in the final round, in a fixture they will need to win to ensure survival.
