A member of the Kilmurry Ibrickane backroom team is confident they’re ready to continue the defence of their title this weekend.

The Bricks are preparing for a quarter final showdown with Corofin as they bid to make it a third consecutive Clare Senior football title.

It’s likely they will have to plan without former county star Enda Coughlan who is recovering from a groin issue which could see him sidelined for a number of weeks.

The holders came through a tough battle after extra time against Lissycasey last time out and selector Kieran Madigan is confident they’ll have taken a lot from that game.

Meanwhile the manager of the 2015 champions St Josephs Miltown is hopeful they are moving in the right direction as they look to reclaim their title.

Victories over Wolfe Tones and Doonbeg have seen the west Clare men into the last eight where they will take on Clondegad this Sunday.

These sides met 12 months ago at the semi final stage with the spoils going to the Ballynacally based outfit.

Neylon says while he’s pleased with their progress so far, there’s still room to raise the bar another level.
