Kerry's Declan O'Sullivan has announced his retirement from inter-county football.

The Dromid Pearses forward has put his decision down to niggling injuries, particularly to his knees.

During an 11-year career with the Kingdom, O'Sullivan won five All Ireland medals and lifted Sam Maguire twice as captain in 2006 and 2007.

Meanwhile Cavan's footballers have suffered a blow ahead of the 2015 season, with David Givney opting out of the senior panel.

The Ballymun Kickhams midfielder is citing work commitments as the reason for his withdrawal.

Givney is also suffering from a knee injury, with manager Terry Hyland hopeful he'll return for the Ulster Championship.
