Irishwoman Melanie Späth won yesterday’s second stage of An Post Ras na mBan.

She was first across the finish-line in Carron, ahead of Team Ireland team-mate Olivia Dillon, who takes the overall lead of the race. Sonia O’Sullivan finished in 96th.
This morning sees a team time trial stage, between Barefield and Crusheen, before riders race for an hour around a 4km lap in and around Ballyalla on the outskirts of Ennis. That’s scheduled to begin at 6:45.
