IRFU Hand Two Year Contract To Connachts Ah You

The IRFU and Connacht Rugby have announced that Rodney Ah You has signed a new two-year contract with the IRFU which will see him remain at Connacht until at least June 2O16.

The 25-year-old New Zealander is one of four squad members to have played in all 13 games so far this season, including the recent Heineken Cup back-to-back fixtures against Toulouse.

This follows some mixed news on the Munster contract front.

Donnacha Ryan has signed a new 3 year deal with the IRFU and Munster which means he stays at the province until June 2017, however this boost was followed last night by the news that Casey Laulala will be leaving the province at the end of the season.

It’s understood the former All Black has attracted the interest of several European clubs who have offered terms that Munster are unable to match.

Laulala who joined Munster at the start of the 2012/13 season won his 37th cap against Perpignan on Saturday, in that last gasp win which see’s them 5 points clear at the top of Pool six in their Heineken Cup Campaign.
