Defeat last time out against Armagh means promotion is now beyond Colm Collins side, with the focus switching to securing two crucial League points against Limerick this Sunday that will see them consolidate their position.

In that Armagh loss, Clare fought back from 10 points down at the break to reduce the gap to just two midway through the half, but came out on the wrong side of a 3-11 to 1-11 scoreline.

Captain Gary Brennan says while there are positives to take, they know there's a lot more work to do.

Meanwhile Clare will be without Eire Óg's Ciaran Russel for Sunday's clash after he picked up an injury during their draw with Doonbeg in last weekends opening round of the Cusack Cup.

David Tubridy is also sidelined through injury Kilmurry Ibrickane's Enda Coughlan could make his reappearance from a cruciate knee injury sustained in 2014 after he came off the bench for his club last weekend.

Throw in on Sunday in Newcastlewest is at 3pm, live updates here on Clare FM.
