Clare’s defeat yesterday raises the prospect that the county’s senior footballers and hurlers could both be in action on the one day.

Clare’s footballers are also taking the qualifying route, and will find out their opponents and venue for that game next Monday. However, the game is provisionally scheduled for Saturday July 6th, when Laois are set to visit Cusack Park.
Today, a spokesman for the Clare County Board has told Clare FM that they will look for this to be taken into account when the fixtures for the football qualifiers are being drawn up by the CCC, and are hoping for a favourable solution for the teams and supporters.
