Newmarket-on-Fergus, Tubber, Clonlara, Sixmilebridge, Inagh-Kilnamona, Crusheen, Ballyea and O’Callaghans Mills are expected to be in the hat, after official Group 1 results are checked.

That pool will be decided by scoring difference. Newmarket beat Tubber 0-17 to 1-11 meaning the defending champions top the group, but Kilmaley, battling against Tubber for the runners-up spot, were beaten by Tulla 5-12 to 0-20.

This means Tubber expected to progress on a marginal scoring advantage. In Group 2, Cratloe were the big casualties, as they drew against group toppers Crusheen. Inagh/Kilnamona are runners-up there after beating St. Josephs Doora/Barefield 2-18 to 1-10.

Sixmilebridge overcame Clonlara 1-18 to 3-10 in Group 3 meaning they top the group, and both sides progress. Clooney/Quin put 5 goals past Clarecastle, but it wasn’t enough to progress on scoring difference. However, the result does save them from a relegation battle.

Elsewhere O’Callaghans Mills are through after their Senior B win over Eire Og – that ended 2-24 to 2-11.

Ballyea ended their group action with a 1-22 to 0-11 win over Scariff on Saturday topping the table.
