Hurling and camogie sides confident ahead of weekend league encounters

Clare’s senior hurling and camogie camps both say they’re confident of success, as they aim to reach the semi-finals of their National Leagues this weekend.

Tulla’s David McInerney is the only major injury doubt for the game, after he was substituted during Sunday’s loss to Kilkenny.

A win against Tipperary would see the Banner secure their spot in the League’s knock-out stages, but a loss could see Clare end up in the relegation play off.

However, selector Mike Deegan says the team are more than ready for the game.

Clare FM’s live commentary of this Sunday’s Allianz National Hurling League clash between Clare and Tipperary will be brought to you in association with Clare Fruit and Veg Market and Donie O’Keeffe Champion Meats, Turnpike Road, Ennis.

Meanwhile, the management of Clare’s camogie side say they’re confident of upsetting the All Ireland Champions on their own patch this weekend.

The Banner travel to Wexford Park to take on the Slaneysiders who have won the last three All Ireland Championships.

If John Carmody’s side avoid defeat then they will top their group, though Clare could still reach the semi-finals even if they do lose.

However, the manager is confident this won’t occur.
