The Clare Senior Hurlers will take on Waterford for the third time in four years in their Munster hurling championship opener following last night’s 2013 provincial draw.
The Clare Senior Footballers meanwhile will face either Cork or Limerick in a Munster semi final after receiving a bye into the last four.
For the second year in a row Davy Fitzgerald will take on the side he led to the Munster title in 2010.
However unlike this year’s championship Clare will have to get past Cork if they overcome Waterford before they reach a Munster hurling final.
Old rivals Limerick and Tipperary meet in the other semi final
In the Leinster senior hurling championship Ollie Baker’s Offaly must meet All Ireland champions Kilkenny in the q-finals while Anthony Daly’s Dublin provide the opposition for Wexford at the same stage.
In the Munster football championship the new Clare manager will be happy with to be just 70 minutes away from a Munster final after the Banner received a bye in the draw. They will meet either Limerick or Cork who meet at q-final stage while Tipperary take on Kerry for the fourth year in a row in the other q-final as Waterford await in the semi final
