It’s hoped a new sporting initiative for women being hosted in Shannon will lead to greater retention of players in female sports.
A series called Try It All will run at the Wolfe Tones GAA grounds for nine weeks, with the first event taking place on Monday evening next.
The series is aimed at women aged 18 or over, with coaching sessions on rugby, soccer and ladies football taking place over the nine weeks.
One of those involved in the initiative is former Clare camogie player Aine ni Chormaic, who says it will be an outlet for those who may have never played or drifted away from sport.
