Honeysuckle Tipped To Win Champion Hurdle As Cheltenham Begins

The Henry de Bromhead-trained Honeysuckle is being tipped here in Clare to emerge victorious in the feature race on day 1 of the Cheltenham festival.

Clare involvement in this year’s event is limited, with amateur jockeys, including 4-time winner and Tubber man Derek O Connor, prevented from travelling over due to public health restrictions.

All eyes will be on the Champion Hurdle event on today’s seven race card, which gets underway at 1.20 this afternoon.

Quin man and racing pundit Conor O Neill doesn’t believe the favourite will be beaten in day one’s feature race.
