Feakle and Sixmilebridge are sitting on top of the standings in Group One of the Clare senior hurling championship after the opening round of games.
Feakle snatched a dramatic one point win over Clonlara with Raymond Banes late score securing a 1-17 to 1-16 victory for the East Clare men.
Sixmilebridge took derby honours in their showdown with Newmarket, winning by 0-23 to 1-13.
Ballyea got their title defence off to a winning start as goals from Pearse Lillis and Aaron Griffin saw them beat O’Callaghan’s Mills by 2-20 to 1-14.
Cratloe are top of Group Two as they cruised past Clarecastle by 2-21 to 0-15 with goals for the winners from Diarmuid Ryan and Rian Considine.
In the intermediate championship, Corofin beat Ruan by 3-19 to 1-16 while St Joseph’s were 2-22 to 3-14 winners over O’Callaghans Mills
