Kerry will meet CIT and Cork will play UL in the semi-finals of the McGrath Cup next weekend after all coming through their last 8 ties yesterday.
The competition began without Clare, Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford who are boycotting in protest at the seeded draw for this year’s Munster Championship.
Meanwhile, after the opening weekend of competitive action, Clare referee Rory Hickey says the new rules for football are making his job easier.
The highly debated black card made its debut in a bid to cut out cynical fouls. Hickey oversaw the clash of CIT and Mary I, and has told Clare FM that he feels players were erring on the side of caution.
