American Gage Hecht has won the opening stage of the Junior Tour of Ireland.

Hecht, with the Hot Tubes cycling team, was fastest on stage one, a short 6km individual time trial between Ennis and Drumquin.
Today's second stage gets underway at noon, and is a 109km test around the Burren, Black Head, Doolin, Castle Hill and Ennistimon.
Riders will finish on the Ennis bypass at around 3 o'clock.
