Head of under-age hurling seeks to stamp out abuse of referees.

The chairman of the Clare  under-age hurling board has described the abuse of referees by team mentors as a "cancer going through under-age " in the county.

Martin Reynolds made his comments at last night’s AGM in Ennis during his chairman’s address to delegates.

The meeting heard that  clubs will be fined 200 euro from next year on if any team mentor is  found guilty of abusing a referee during a match.
