Dozens of Clare handballers will be in action in Dublin over the next 10 days as the world handball champions gets underway today.
Competitors from across the county at all age groups will be looking to advance in the tournament which is being held at Citywest in Dublin
55 players from 7 handball clubs across Clare are getting ready for action this weekend at the World handball championships in Dublin
Sean Coughlin from Clooney Quin is the youngest competitor from Clare who will be in action at u11 singles and doubles while hopes will be high that players such as Diarmuid Nash, Colin Corbett,Colin Creehan and Niall Bolton can progress to the latter stages of their competition while Declan Frawley will be hoping to add another world title to his glittering career after he previously claimed a world junior crown.
In total 24 adult men and 3 women, 6 under-age girls and 22 under-age boys will be in action for the biggest handball event to be staged in Ireland for a number of years.
