St Joseph’s Doora Barefield manager Michael Guilfoyle says he’s proud of his players efforts after their bid for a Munster final spot just came up short.
Goals in either half for Monaleen saw the Limerick side advance to the decider, as they ran out winners by 2-13 to 0-16.
There was confusion late on, as St Joseph’s mentors claimed that Monaleen had 16 players on the field for a time, but it is not believed it will have any impact on the outcome of the contest.
Guilfoyle says his players gave what they could on the day
There was also disappointment for the Banner in the Munster junior semi-final, as they lost out by a single point after extra-time to Limerick champions St Kieran’s.
