Great start for Clare at Handball Championships

Clare had a successful start to the World Championships which are taking place in Dublin
In the boys U15:

Cathair Agnew got off to a flying start with a 15-1 15-5 win over his opponent Ciaran Hampton.

Jack Hayes unlucky to lose a well contested battle to a Seamus Hampton with a score of 15-13 15-13.

Luke Keane was also unfortunate to lose his opening game to Owen Deasey on a score of 15-11 15-13.

Barry Loughnane won his opening game against Billy O’Malley on a score of 15-8 15-1.
Fergal Coughlan put in a good first round performance to win on a score of 15-4 15-4 against Declan Smith. David Sheehy was unlucky to lose out to Peter Smith on a score of 15-11 15-0.

Unfortunately both Colin Kelly in the boys U17 and Sean Cotter in the boys U15 have pulled out due to injury.

Mike Baker put in a fine display of handball in the Mens C to win against JD Murphy, while the remainder of the Mens C games with Clare participants are on going.
