Katie Taylor has won an Olympic GOLD medal in the lightweight boxing final.

It was a close fought contest at London’s ExCel Arena – the first round was tied at two points each, Russia’s Sofya Och-i-gava took the second 2 points to 1.
But the Bray native fought back to take the third round by 7 points to 5 –
And then took the deciding fourth round – winning an historic gold medal by 10 points to 8
