An Ennis Swimming Club member has claimed gold on Day One of the National Short Course Championships in Lisburn.

Bernard Cahill pipped Brendan Gibbons of Athlone in the Men's 400m Freestyle event, which he won in a time of 3:51.54 seconds.
There was further success for Ennis, meanwhile, when Rory McEvoy claimed silver in the Men’s 200m Backtstroke Event.
The competition continues today and tomorrow.
