John Carmody & Conor Dolan’s side preserved their Senior status for the 2023 All Ireland Camogie Championship in style this afternoon thanks to a 6-10 to 1-13 Victory over Offaly in the Senior Camogie Relegation Final in Moneygall.
The Banner Ladies raced out of the block in this encounter with Eimear Kelly and Chloe Morey going for the jugular inside the opening five minutes and finding their mark.
By the eighteenth minute dual star Niamh O’Dea found the net and Clare had built up an eleven point lead with thanks in no small part to strong defensive displays from Aoife Keane , Alannah Ryan and Clare Hehir limiting the Faithful to just three Points.
Chloe Morey grabbed her second Goal of the day before the break where Clare lead Offaly by 4-07 To 0-05.
The Banner ladies would not relent and added further goals inside the opening five minutes of the second half with efforts from the superb Lorna McNamara and Chloe Morey’s second of the day.
To their credit Offaly did not give in and would score 1-08 in the second half with Sarah Harding grabbing a goal just 15 minutes from time adding much deserved respectability to the score line.
However the damage was done and Clare deservedly ran out 6-10 to 1-13 victors in Moneygall and will be keen to prove themselves in the All Ireland Senior Championship of 2023 while Offaly will drop to the Intermediate grade next season.
