Galway United have confirmed that they have withdrawn their licence application for next season.
The club have been forced to drop out of the Airtricity League after the Galway United Supporters Trust withdrew its support and signalled that it intends to apply for a licence separately.

If that application is successful, then it is likely to spell the end of the Tribesmen after 74 years in existence.
