Clare’s Minor Hurlers have dropped out of the Championship after defeat to Galway in Pairc Ui Chaoimh this afternoon.

Galway took the first point of the game and controlled the pace throughout, while several Clare come-backs came close to equaling the sides in the first half.

Both sides managed seven points in the opening thirty minutes, with only Jack Canning’s goal giving the Tribesmen a lead.

Galway proved the superior side in the second half with a continuous string of points and a second Galway goal from Enda Fahey leading them to a 2-19 winning score.

A late consolation goal from Gary Cooney added to Clare’s tally of 12 points, but Galway were too far ahead to make a dent.

Final score in Cork was Galway 2-19, Clare 1-12.
