It had been thought that Clonlara's Colm Galvin would miss this year's Championship, after deciding to spend the summer in Boston.
However, Clare FM understands that he is returning to Ireland this week.
It remains to be seen what involvement he'll have in Davy Fitzgerald's setup, but Galvin had continued to play hurling in the US with the Tipperary club.
