Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald has confirmed the return of midfielder Colm Galvin to the Clare senior hurling setup.
The Clonlara man has returned to Clare from Boston, and will begin training with the county side this week.
Pending match fitness, he's expected to be part of the Banner squad in their first All-Ireland Qualifier clash against Offaly on Saturday July 4th
The following statement has been released on the matter:
The management of the Clare senior hurling team today (Tuesday, 23 June 2015) confirmed that midfielder Colm Galvin has rejoined the inter-county panel.
The 22-year-old Clonlara clubman has returned to County Clare from Boston, USA, where he has been playing for the Tipperary club for the past two months.
Galvin featured on the Clare teams that won All-Ireland U21 titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014, while he also helped The Banner County to its fourth All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship title in 2013.
The 2013 All Star midfielder's return to the Clare panel has been welcomed by senior hurling manager, Davy Fitzgerald.
"Ahead of his departure to the US, the management team assured Colm that the door would remain open for his return to the squad should he decide to come home over the course of the summer. During the past couple of weeks Colm expressed his desire to return and through regular communication with his father Kevin, we were only too delighted to invite him to rejoin the squad," said Fitzgerald.
"Colm is an exceptionally talented hurler and had been a key figure in the Clare side up to his departure following the National League in April. He will resume training with the rest of the panel this week. Pending match fitness, I expect that Colm will be part of the match day panel in next week's Qualifier tie. In the meantime, the management and players are delighted to welcome him back into the fold," he added.
Clare face Offaly in the First Round of the All Ireland Champion Qualifiers in Cusack Park on Saturday, July 4th at 7.00pm.
