The manager of last year’s county-winning St Joseph’s Milltown Malbay team says his former side look in good shape ahead of the playoff phase of the Clare Senior Football Championship.

Last year’s champions saw off Doonbeg by 2-11 to 0-11 at the weekend to throw their hat in the ring in what is effectively a preliminary quarter final.

The draw for the playoffs was made earlier this week, with St Joseph’s Milltown Malbay taking on Cooraclare for the right to face the winners of Cratloe’s postponed match with Clondegad – whoever comes through that will take the fourth spot in the county semi finals.

Kilmurry-Ibrickane, St Breckans and Lissycasey will join the playoff winners in the last four.
