Clare’s Munster Football Championship ambitions ended for another year as Kerry made a dominant first half count despite a late Banner revival.

James O’Donoghue’s goal on 33 minutes allowed the reigning provincial champions hold a nine-point interval lead before stretching that margin to 1-13 to 0-4.

Clare outscored their opponents in the final quarter to give themselves hope when the qualifiers commence in three weeks time.
