Tulla Take the Division Four Camogie League Title

Tulla 3-15 St. Joseph’s 3-5

Tulla had the better of this tie in a very entertaining final in Eire Óg on Saturday evening.

St. Josephs got off to a dream start with two high dropping goals to the net from Ciara Whelan and Aisling Reidy inside the opening five minutes. Tulla didn’t panic and got themselves on the scoreboard with points from Bridin Dinan and Aoife Floyd who levelled matters with a well taken goal.

Bridin Dinan tagged on two further points before Aoife Floyd got her second goal midway through the half. Tulla’s Bridin Dinan put two more points on the board. Ciara Whelan goaled for St. Josephs in the 23rd minute. Whelan and Bridin Dinan exchanged points with Dinan pointing from a free to give Tulla the half time lead on a scoreline 2-9 to 3-1.

St. Joseph’s started the second half well with early points from Keira McGrath and Aisling Reidy. Tulla’s defense stood strong with Sinead Conlon, Gillian Ryan, Amy McNamara and Aoife Conlon keeping the St. Joseph’s forward under pressure.

Sherena McGrath worked tirelessly throughout for Tulla with strong performances from Saidhbh O’Brien, Aisling Reidy and Sarah O’Brien for St. Josephs. Points were exchanged from frees for both sides from Bridin Dinan, Vanessa Meaney and Ciara Whelan.

Aisling Hunt goaled for Tulla in the closing minutes with Tara Gleeson and Orla Mulconroy adding two points to seal victory and the silverware for Tulla with a great team performance on the day.
